A European project to experiment the integration of large renewable energies capacities on the distribution grid

Total budget:

  • €6.6 million, including €645,000 funded by Enedis (€5.6 million of the total budget is funded by the European Commission)

The IGREENGrid project (InteGrating Renewables in the EuropEaN electricity Grid) was initiated in response to a call for projects from the European Commission’s FP7. It brings together 12 partners (8 distribution system operators and 4 research institutes) from 6 European countries which are sharing the same objective : to increase the distribution grid capacities in order to integrate more renewable energies without compromising the quality of power supply.

  • Information provided to customers
  • Installation of innovative equipment (observation, control)
  • Gestion of ev charging station
  • Big data management
  • Power demand and generation forecasting models and tools
  • Advanced functions for managing the grid (status estimation, voltage regulation, self-healing, demand / production balance, active management of distributed resources...)
  • Electricity storage solutions (batteries, electric vehicle)
